Ram Baraat or Lord Rama Marriage –
 A part of the Ramleela celebrations

Ram Baraat or Lord Rama marriage – a part of the Ramleela celebrations, was taken out with full festive colours and fervors in Kapurthala. Hundreds of people took part in Ram Baraat. The whole path of religious procession was decorated with lights and sparks. Ramayan Bhajans were played in background. Ramlila Artists & Children dressed as Lord Ram, his wife Sita, his four brothers, Hanuman, Raja Dasrath, Lord Shiva, Goddess Saraswati and other God and Goddesses sat on colourful chariots during the procession. Along with religious chariots number of cultural and social awareness chariots also participated in it to bring awareness among masses. The procession started from Panj Mandir, Kapurthala. Shri Ram Dharam Parcharni Sabha, Kapurthala organised the event in support of all temples of city. Thousands of people gathered in streets to have a look at various Tableaux pageants (Jhankis).
